THE EVOLUTION OF ICE HOCKEY - CANADA'S SPORTS HALL OF FAME

In early 2020, I was given the opportunity to work with a group of fellow SAIT students on a digital gallery for Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, optimized for touchscreen display. Our goal was to take elements of the ice hockey exhibit from the SHOF in Calgary and create an immersive experience that could be taken to different locations around the country in the form of a portable 10x10 space.

During our initial visit to the gallery, we were fascinated by how much the sport we all know and love has evolved into what it is today. We became inspired to tell a story about how hockey has progressed over the years in two different parts for our digital display. The first of which is a timeline-based gallery where users can see the evolution of hockey equipment throughout the years, and the second is an educational game.
